The details are what change between each wedding. Living in San Antonio, the majority of the weddings I photograph are Catholic, and virtually all of them are "standard American weddings": you have a getting ready time, a 15 to 45 minute ceremony followed by portraits, then a reception that lasts into the evening with dinner, dancing, bouquet and garter toss, and a wedding exit. That is the average American wedding and all quite similar. What sets each wedding apart is all the little details that go into it.
Even though a lot of couples follow wedding trends when planning their weddings (rustic, country, bohemian, etc.) each couple includes different wedding details. I have never photographed two weddings that were exactly the same. I find there is so much of the couple's personality in the details they choose to include in their wedding. From the shoes to the rings to the dress to the cake to the flowers - it all paints a picture of who you are as a couple. The other reason? The details are always SO beautiful! I love photographing beautiful things!
Since I haven't been able to share any full weddings yet I wanted to sneak in a post featuring some of my recent detail photography from various San Antonio weddings! Enjoy!
