July and August are miserable months to be pregnant in San Antonio, and I have to take my hat off to Meghan for rocking out her final trimester during these summer months. I was hoping that by doing her maternity portraits mid-July we'd at least get kind of lucky and only have weather in the mid 90's to deal with, but nope. It ended up being the hottest week of the year so far, with a full week of temperatures in the 103+ range.
Looking at images from our session, you'd never know we were all sweaty, exhausted messes. I have no idea how Meghan and Daryl managed to look so good in this San Antonio heat, but I was very glad I was behind the camera instead of in front of it.
I've been photographing special moments in this couples' life since their wedding a few years ago, and it's been really amazing watching them, and now their family, grow. Life goes by so quickly, from finishing school to advancing careers, marriage, anniversaries, and now adding a baby into the mix, it really melts my heart when couples value celebrating and documenting the most valuable gift we all have - life.
I can't wait until Landon comes into this world and I can finally photograph her with her amazing parents! She's in such great hands and she is truly lucky to have Meghan and Daryl as her parents. She'll be surrounded by more love, hugs and kisses than she can handle - and she'll probably hate me because I'll be constantly wanting to take photos of her.
Here's to a smooth finish to your pregnancy, Meghan, and I can't wait to meet your sweet, beautiful daughter!
