Back in March Kammee won a couple's session on Facebook (if you haven't joined my Facebook Group - The VIP Lounge make sure you do, and like my Facebook Page - The PK Photographs while you're there) and we finally had our shoot this week! We were supposed to shoot on Sunday but Mother Nature decided that wasn't going to happen and unloaded a full day of thunderstorms upon us. It was for the better, though, because the temperature and humidity were lower when we shot on the next day.
When Kammee and I were planning this session we talked about a lot of different ways to do the shoot. Since the session was in honor of March being "Couple's Month" we wanted to focus on her relationship with her husband. After hearing the story of their wedding day I really wanted to capture some special portraits of this couple.
They were supposed to get married last year, right around the time that Hurricane Harvey hit. They live quite a ways south of San Antonio and ended up having to leave their home for safety and decided to spend some time in New Mexico with their family. While up there they decided to just get married then, in the gorgeous mountains. The perfect, spur-of-the-moment wedding ceremony. They didn't have the opportunity to have wedding photograph taken and I wasn't going to let that slide, so we turned their couple's shoot into a post-wedding-day / maternity portrait session.
This is just a small snapshot from our session together, but I've finally managed to restrain myself from over-posting images for once! I can't wait until their son is born, I can only imagine how cute he's going to be! Such sweet parents, as well!
