Downtown San Antonio has some seriously stunning hotels, and as a wedding photographer I get to create some insanely beautiful images in these gorgeous places! This was my first wedding at the St. Anthony hotel, and this may be one of my favorite local wedding reception venues. Before we get to the reception though, we have to start with the ceremony!
Lauren and Dan chose to get married at Our Lady of Grace, also here in San Antonio, in a traditional Catholic ceremony. If you've never attended a Catholic wedding the ceremony typically lasts an hour, which leaves me with a lot of time to experiment and create unique and different images! I love being able to include the architecture of the church in some of the photographs. A quick heads up, if you're planning a wedding ceremony in a church, a lot of places have photography restrictions that hinder where I can take photos from, limiting what I can create. Make sure you check with the church prior to booking if this is important to you!
After the ceremony and the witnesses signing of the marriage license, we headed over to the St. Anthony for two, yes you heard me, TWO GLORIOUS HOURS of portraits! Okay, we also did some bridal party photos in this time, but with a couple and venue this beautiful we used every last second! I can't help but say a huge thank you to Margaret Peché , the wedding planner, for helping pull this stunning and amazing event off (she also runs MAD Makeover Professionals). The wedding reception was filled with so many beautiful moments to photograph as family and friends laughed, ate, and danced all evening.
The ceremony was held at Our Lady of Grace, with the reception following at the St. Anthony Hotel. The St. Anthony also catered the event. Spring Garden Flower Shop took care of the flowers, with the wedding dress from Lillian Lottie Bridal Couture in Arizona! Margaret Peché, of MAD Makeover Professionals, provided wedding coordination and hair/makeup, and entertainment was handled by Four Star Entertainment.
