My draw towards photographing weddings has been an obsession with capturing happiness, joy and love, along with the beauty of the day. If there has been any wedding I've shot so far in 2016 that has taken me back to this place, it's Andria & Zac's. I'm so in love with this wedding that I'm writing too many words and including too many pictures. #sorrynotsorry
The Lodge at Country Inn Cottages was the perfect venue for this wedding, if you haven't been out there you need to check out their website. The greenery of the trees was a gorgeous accent to the wedding decor. As everyone was getting ready, the sky was threatening to open up and rain. Andria and Zac had their first look in front of the Lodge's gorgeous main doors, with just Andria's mother watching from a distance. I'll never forget Zac's amazement at his bride, when he turned to her mother and fought back to the tears to ask her "And you made this woman?!"
After their first look we wisked Andria away to the Bridal Suite, and nervously watched the sky. After moving the ceremony chairs inside, and then back outside again as the sky cleared up, all the guests settled down and and just as Andria was ready to walk up the aisle with her mother it started sprinkling. While this might be some bride's worst nightmare, Andria was all smiles and didn't even care. Luckily the sprinkles stopped shortly thereafter and the sky was clear for the rest of the day.
Besides all the cute, completely-in-love looks Zac and Andria kept throwing each other, this wedding will forever stand out in my mind because of how excited and happy Andria's son was to have Zac as his official step-father. As soon as the ceremony ended, before they even made it back up the aisle, he had to hug each one of them, and again when we were doing post-ceremony portraits of the bride and groom he just had to jump in and hug his mom and step-dad, he literally couldn't contain himself! It was so heartwarming to see!
A few of my other favorite parts of this wedding, you know, besides the entire thing, were that a family friend made both the bride and groom's cakes. I've seen a lot of non-professionals create different parts of the wedding, from flowers to cakes to makeup to the veil, and sometimes it's just a disaster. I do get a bit scared when I hear "oh a family friend is doing that part" during a bridal consultation just because experience in the wedding industry is so valuable, but I was blown away by these two cakes. Not only were they gorgeous, but they were done to a level of professionalism that completely had me fooled. In addition, Andria and Zac were completely accepting of my wedding ring detail shots obsession, and encouraged me to shoot their rings not just during bridal prep but also during dinner to get additional images! Okay, enough talk, I'll quit going on and on about this wedding so you can actually see the images! Information about the other vendors can be found at the bottom of the post.
