When I arrived at the Immaculate Heart Mary of Church in San Antonio to photograph Ducle and Ricardo's wedding ceremony, I about died. You'll understand in a minute. Or, just scroll down right now and then scroll right back up. This instantly became my favorite church in San Antonio to photograph. Just LOOK at that ceiling! As an artist, I adore color and was instantly in heaven. But, back to the ceremony.
Before Dulce was even walking up the aisle, the anticipation and excitement in the room was palpable. She was so beautiful, and the love Ricardo and her share was almost overwhelming to experience. Surrounded by their families and friends, their ceremony felt so intimate in the large, high ceiling church. After their ceremony we headed over to Olympia Hills Golf and Event Center for their wedding reception. The staff putting the finishing touches on the reception hall did a wonderful job and were so polite and friendly to work with! The hall was decorated in beautiful, classic white and black, and Dulce had planned a very unique and beautiful way for the chair linen's to be tied. Everything from the centerpieces to the custom label chocolate bars they gave their guests as wedding favors was perfectly done.
As I was finishing photographing the details in the reception hall, just check out that gorgeous cake, the guests were getting ready to file in and Dulce was having her dress bustled with the help of her new husband, (I'm not kidding, he did a great job. I'm so used to seeing 3 bridesmaids and a mother trying to get it done, but he just patiently kneeled down and in a matter of minutes she was ready to go). Hands down, my favorite part of photographing this wedding was the toasts. Hearing Ricardo's sister and brother-in-law talk about when he started dating Dulce brought tears to more than just Dulce's eyes!
The newlywed's first dance as husband and wife was intimate and low-key as the couple themselves, followed by the traditional father-daughter and mother-son dances. Soon after, the dance floor was opened up for all, and the families and friends of the newly married couple danced until it was time to bid the couple farewell!
