From Behind the Lens: Time With Mother Nature | San Antonio Wedding Photographer

A few weeks ago I had the opportunity to break away from the hustle and bustle of wedding photography. As much as I love the excitement, energy and occasional chaos of weddings, it was rejuvenating to take a visit to Government Canyon State Natural Area. This is one of my favorite places to hike, be sure to check out their website for information about the area and delicate ecosystem there.

Loaded down with 3 liters of water and my camera, I took a hike up part of the Far Reaches trail to the Chula Vista Outlook and just spent some time with the sun, wind, plants and bugs. Not focused on documenting an event, not anticipating the next shot I need to get, but just breathing and living, (and plenty of sweating).

Your task this week is to make some time for yourself. Put down your phone, and get off Pinterest. Those wedding plans will still be there when you get back. Spend some time clearing your mind and re-energizing yourself. When you get back to your wedding plans, you'll have the renewed energy to solve challenges and make decisions that may have seemed impossible before.

I think having land and not ruining it is the most beautiful art that anybody could ever want.
